Frequently asked questions
Everything you wonder about before entrusting your event to a DJ — booking, music, technical set-up, budget. A question missing? Write to me, reply within 24 hrs.
Booking & organisation
How far in advance should we book?
For a Saturday between May and September, allow 12 to 18 months in advance — these dates go very fast. For a Friday, a Sunday or an off-season date, a few months may be enough. The simplest way: check directly whether your date is free.
How does booking work?
A first conversation (phone or meeting) to understand your project, then a detailed quote within 24 hrs. The date is secured when the quote is signed, with a deposit. Then we build the evening together, week after week, right up to the big day.
Do you meet couples before the wedding?
Always. A preparation meeting (in person or by video call), then regular check-ins as the day approaches: running order, highlights, playlist, coordination. You will not arrive on the day with a stranger behind the decks.
We live far from Bordeaux — is that a problem?
No, it is actually common: many couples book an estate in the Gironde without living in the region. Everything is settled by video call, at times that suit you — first conversation, music choices, running order, follow-up check-ins. The only meeting that really counts is the one on the big day, and I am on site well before you. A wedding prepared from the Paris region goes just as well as one prepared twenty minutes from my home.
Do you coordinate with our other suppliers?
Yes, it is essential: I time the key moments with the caterer (service, wedding cake), the photographer/videographer (first dance, effects) and the venue (timings, technical constraints, neighbours).
Music & the party
Can we choose the music? And ban some songs?
That is the very foundation: through a dedicated app, you build the playlist for each moment with me — and above all the do-not-play list, which matters as much as the rest. On the day, I read the room and adapt live, within the framework we defined together.
Can people dance from the cocktail onwards?
Oh yes. For the liveliest groups, the cocktail hour can already turn into a dance floor — the mood builds gradually, without stealing the show from the dinner that follows. We talk about it during preparation: every group has its own energy.
Do you provide sound for the non-religious ceremony?
Yes: discreet outdoor sound, wireless microphones for the celebrant and speakers, entrance and exit music timed to the second. It is included in the Essential Package.
Do you host games, a music quiz?
The music quiz is my speciality — it gets every generation on the same page and launches the party like nothing else. I also host your surprises, speeches and activities, on the mic but never stealing the limelight: the party remains yours.
Until what time do you play?
The end time is set together in the quote. And if the dance floor is on fire at the scheduled time, we can extend: extra hours can be decided even during the evening.
Technical set-up & equipment
What happens if there is a technical problem?
Every critical element (decks, speakers, microphones, cabling) has its twin in the van: that is the principle of backup equipment. In over 100 events, not a single party has stopped because of a breakdown — and I always arrive early enough to test everything before your guests.
What do you need on site?
Simply access to the venue a few hours beforehand (set-up and checks) and standard power supplies. I take care of the rest, and I contact the venue directly to settle the technical details.
Are cold sparklers and low-lying fog allowed indoors?
Cold spark fountains and low-lying fog are professional event effects designed for indoor use. Low-lying fog creates a floor-level effect. Both effects are always agreed with your venue in advance, taking its equipment and safety rules into account — some venues have their own restrictions.
Do you also provide outdoor sound?
Yes: a non-religious ceremony in the grounds, a cocktail hour on the terrace, a village fête… outdoor sound is part of my packages, with equipment suited to open-air constraints.
Budget & paperwork
How much does your service cost?
Every event is different: number of guests, duration, venue, options. Rather than a single price list, I prepare a free personalised quote within 24 hrs, detailed line by line, with no hidden fees. To understand what makes market prices vary, read the complete guide to wedding DJ budgets.
Are you registered and insured?
Yes: registered business (SIRET 888 471 984 00029), professional liability insurance, written quote and contract. It is your guarantee — and often a requirement of your venue.
Do you travel outside Bordeaux?
The whole Gironde of course, but also Dordogne, Charente, Lot-et-Garonne… and beyond: weddings have already taken me to Agen, Nantes and Versailles. Any travel costs are clearly stated in the quote.
Do you DJ events other than weddings?
Yes: birthdays, christenings and village fêtes as well as corporate parties (end-of-year parties, seminars, after-work events) with business invoicing.
