A North African wedding is not mixed like any other
Oriental-style procession, outfit changes, henna: the running order has nothing in common with a classic wedding. Nor does the dance floor. I have DJed a dozen Algerian, Moroccan and Franco-Maghrebi weddings in the Gironde and across Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The running order is not the same
At a Franco-Maghrebi wedding, three moments exist nowhere else and need to be prepared to the second.
The oriental-style procession
The couple’s entrance is a moment of spectacle, not a simple arrival. It needs the right track, launched at the right instant, and a volume that carries without covering the youyous.
The outfit change
The bride changes once or several times during the evening. Each reappearance is an entrance in its own right, with its own music. This is where a DJ who is not used to it gets caught out: you have to hold the floor during the absence, then relaunch at the right moment.
The henna
A highlight with its own repertoire and its own rhythm. It is not treated as just another activity.

What I play
Raï, and the repertoire of the family’s country — Algerian, Moroccan, Kabyle, Tunisian, Egyptian. I adapt to the origins of both families, and alternate with the French repertoire so that nobody stays seated.
A taste of what I play regularly. The playlist is built with you, in your private LexPlay space, from your must-plays and from what your families are really hoping to hear.
What families ask for first
Every time, the same request: the traditional music. Not the hits of the moment — the repertoire the parents and grandparents expect, the one that gets the whole room up and not just the cousins.
That is precisely what a generalist DJ does not have in his crates. You can know three raï tracks and think that is enough. It is not. That depth is what makes the difference between a decent party and one the family still talks about years later.
A Franco-Algerian wedding at the Citadelle du Château-d’Oléron
Manon and Hichem, white dress code, arrival in a vintage car in front of the ramparts, and a dance floor that never emptied. Their review is on the client reviews page.
