Wedding DJ prices in Bordeaux & Gironde: 2026 rates

“How much does a wedding DJ cost?” — it is THE question every couple asks at the start of their planning, and a clear answer is hard to find. Here is an honest guide to the usual price ranges, what makes prices vary, and the pitfalls to avoid. No spin: I am a wedding DJ in the Gironde, and I prefer well-informed couples.

The price ranges generally seen

In the Gironde, as in most French regions, professional wedding DJ rates most often range between €800 and €2,000 depending on the scope of the service:

  • Evening only (from dinner or the start of the evening): generally the professionals’ entry-level package.
  • Full day (non-religious ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, party — often 10 to 12 hours on site): the heart of the market, and the most popular package.
  • Options and effects (cold sparklers, low-lying fog, video projector, extra hours): charged on top, à la carte.

Below €600 for a full day, ask yourself some questions (more on that below). Above €2,500, you are generally paying for a reputation or for very specific event services.

What makes the price vary

Time on site

A full wedding day often means more than 11 hours on site, not counting set-up beforehand, packing down, the preparation in the preceding weeks and the drive. The rate reflects that reality — you are not paying for “4 hours of music”.

The equipment

Indoor and outdoor sound, wireless microphones for speeches, lighting for the dance floor and the room, and above all backup equipment: fully redundant professional gear represents tens of thousands of euros of investment, regularly renewed.

Preparation beforehand

A good DJ does not just turn up with a USB stick: meetings, building the playlist with you, coordination with the other suppliers and the venue, preparing the highlights (entrances, first dance, surprises). This invisible preparation makes the difference on the day.

Season and day of the week

Saturdays from May to September concentrate most of the demand and are booked 12 to 18 months in advance. A Friday, a Sunday or an off-season date may offer more flexibility.

The trap of rock-bottom prices

The right questions to ask before comparing

  • How many hours on site are included, and what is the price of an extra hour?
  • Is outdoor sound for the cocktail hour included?
  • Is lighting included or optional?
  • Is the DJ registered and insured? Is there a written contract?
  • What happens in case of a breakdown or the unexpected?

Two quotes at the same price can hide very different services: always compare the content, not just the amount.

And in practice, for your wedding?

Every wedding is different — number of guests, venue, duration, special wishes. That is why I do not publish a single price list: I prefer to talk with you and build a transparent quote, detailed line by line, with no hidden fees. Request your free quote (reply within 24 hrs) or first check whether your date is free. And to get an idea of what it looks like on the day, the couples’ reviews speak better than I do.
